Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the child of British parents Jacqueline Luesby, a lawyer, as well as Chris Watson, a teacher from Paris, France. They relocated to Oxfordshire when she was five and attended the Dragon School. As early as the age of six, Emma knew that she wanted to be an actor and for a couple of years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part-time theatre school in which she learned to sing, dance and acting. After eight consistent auditions David Heyman revealed to Emma and Rupert Grint (other applicants) that they were selected to play Hermione Gringer, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance on the screen was when the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was the highest-grossing movie in 2001, breaking records in terms of opening-day sales and opening weekend runs. The film's performances as well as those of its three young stars were highly praised by the critics. The widely distributed British newspaper, 'The Daily Telegraph' described her performance as "admirable". Emma received five awards for her performance in the film, including the Young Artist Award, for Leading Young Actress in a feature Film. Emma became famous after the film's first success of the series. Hermione Granger continued to play her character for a total of ten years in the Harry Potter films. Emma has received two Critics' Choice Awards nominations from Broadcast Film Critics Association.
