Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977, in Miami, Florida. American electro-house musician as well as record producer, D.J. & music executive. He's the third child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father, a former wrestler, co-founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older brothers: Kana (sometimes called Grace) and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with an 1995 B.A. in badminton. After graduation from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, the student attended UC Santa Barbara. degrees, one in feminist studies and the other in sociology. He was a college student who made records on his own and held underground concerts in his Biko space at Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a venue for concerts. He also participated in student activism at UCSB. He created an organization called the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. In his early 20s he was establishing his own record label that was called Dim Mak, a reference to his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. He came out with I'm In the House in March 2010 as a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq The alter-ego of will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. The track hit the top spot at No. The track reached No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart within its first week of release. The song later made it onto the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, peaking within the top 5 on both charts.
