Bruce Willis

Musician and actor Bruce Willis is well known for playing wisecracking or hard-edged characters, usually in stunning action films. He has been featured in films that have earned over $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis was born on the 19th of March 1955 in Idar-Oberstein in West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) They were living on an United States military base. His family moved to America shortly following the birth of his son. He was raised in Penns Grove (New Jersey) where his mother was bank clerk, and his father was an electrician and worker in factories. Willis began to develop an interest in drama during high school. He was allegedly "discovered" while working in a café located in New York City and then was featured in several off-Broadway productions. One evening, Willis worked as a bartender, and was spotted by a casting director who liked his personality. He was looking for bartenders to play the role of a minor character in a film. Willis was part of numerous auditions, before landing the role in the well-known romantic comedy, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. The sly and wise-cracking P.I. Some view it as an exercise to test Willis the role he played in Die Hard (1988), where he single-handedly defeated the gang of thieves from a Los Angeles skyscraper. The sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his character as McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to get back an incorrigible South American general. A record-breaking box office performance prompted a further sequel Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as an unrepentant Harlem shop owner unwittingly thrust into supporting McClane in a bombing campaign in the midst of a hot summer day in New York.
